Courtney graduated with an M.A. in Theatre from Villanova University and a B.S. in Television-Radio and Screenwriting from Ithaca College. As a costume designer, she has worked with Azuka Theatre, Simpatico Theatre Project, Act II Playhouse, Villanova Theatre, New York Musical Festival, Firebird Theatre, and many college and high school programs. She also had an internship with Tony-winner William Ivey Long in NYC and works as an assistant designer in Philadelphia. As a teaching artist, she works with students ages seven through college and has directed over 25 musicals and plays with this age group. Onstage, favorite credits include Annie Get Your Gun (Annie Oakley), Gypsy (Mazeppa), The Children's Hour (Karen), The Music Man (Ethel Toffelmier), and Dorian Gray (Amelia Vane, Off-Broadway, New York Musical Festival).
