  • Rob Aronson

    PRESIDENT

    Rob is a former online marketing executive with extensive experience in leading business units and launching innovative technology products. He was part of the leadership team that guided i-frontier through its successful acquisition by aQuantive, a $400 million digital marketing holding company. Following aQuantive’s acquisition by Microsoft, Rob served as Vice President, overseeing search-related technology products.

    Today, Rob teaches entrepreneurship and is deeply committed to nonprofit work. He serves as President of the Board at Wolf PAC and has been actively involved in the pediatric oncology community for over a decade. His contributions include volunteering as a child life specialist at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and counseling at the Ronald McDonald Oncology Camp. Rob also served on the board of Michael’s Way, a nonprofit that supports families affected by childhood cancer by helping cover essential living expenses.

    David has been a prominent investor in venture and growth equity for over 30 years and has founded and led multiple firms investing over $1.8 billion in energy, climate, and sustainability. Currently, David is a Co-founder and Managing Partner of Activate Capital, a San Francisco based venture growth firm dedicated to market leading technology companies in climate and industrial innovation. Prior to Activate, David was the founder and Managing Partner of Element Partners, an $860 million series of funds dedicated to a broad range of investments in clean technology. From 1996 until 2005, David was also a co-founder and Managing Director of EnerTech Capital, one of the first venture capital firms formed to invest specifically in the deregulation and transition of the global electric markets. In the early part of David’s career, he had both operating and investment roles in multiple companies in energy, utilities, and investment banking.

    David has also been an active participant helping to shape federal policy for the venture capital and growth equity industry. As a board member of the National Venture Capital Association for four years, David chaired the NVCA Energy & Cleantech Committee and worked with policymakers to promote capital formation for technology companies focused on US energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies. In addition, as the 2014-15 Chair of the NVCA Growth Equity Group, David worked with industry participants, research firms and policymakers to establish and benchmark Growth Equity as a distinct asset class within private equity.

    David has been on over 25 company boards over the course of his career, and in addition to work with Wolf PAC, David was a Board member of City Year of Philadelphia for ten years.

    David holds a BA with honors in Geology from Colgate University (1978), an MS in Energy Management and Policy from the University of Pennsylvania (1981.)
